Fiber Optics

Lorad manufactures high purity fluorides and related inorganic materials that are used in specialty optical and fiber material systems. The catalog includes calcium fluoride, barium fluoride, lanthanum fluoride, indium fluoride, hafnium fluoride, cerium fluoride, barium yttrium fluoride, and other high purity fluoride compounds. Lorad has substantial experience producing these chemistries, although individual materials may also serve coating, crystal growth, ceramic, and other optical applications rather than being manufactured exclusively for optical fiber use. For demanding optical materials, Lorad can work to customer specified purity and composition requirements where metallic and oxygen containing impurities must be tightly controlled.
