Zirconium Oxide Yttria Stabilized Delta Phase

Yttria stabilized Zirconium Oxide, delta phase, is available as a 99.9 pure (metals basis) powder in batch quantities. Studies have shown that the thermal conductivity of YSZ decreased up to 20 m/Θ Y₂O₃ additions but remains relatively stable after that. Furthermore these studies (Winter and Clarke, J. Am. Cer. Soc. 90(2),533-540 (2007)) have indicated that the delta phase, (ZrO₂)₃(Y₂O₃)₂, has a 30% lower thermal conductivity than 8YSZ and exhibits a minima in the range of 500-700ºC.
