Moscovium
About Moscovium
Moscovium is a synthetic, radioactive element occupying group 15, below bismuth. Named for the Moscow region, it is produced in nuclear research experiments and identified through its radioactive decay. Studies of individual atoms have begun to establish its chemical behavior, including interactions with surfaces that distinguish it from neighboring flerovium. Moscovium is studied to better understand nuclear stability and chemical trends among superheavy elements, with no established industrial or commercial applications.
