Security Phosphors

      Lorad develops and manufactures specialty phosphors for covert marking, authentication, and other security applications where a controlled optical response is required. The portfolio includes sodium yttrium fluoride, NaYF4, and rare earth activated NaYF4 compositions containing erbium, ytterbium, or other dopants for upconversion emission, as well as europium activated sulfides, strontium aluminate, and related luminescent materials. By varying the host lattice and activator system, phosphors can be engineered to respond at selected excitation wavelengths and produce characteristic emission signatures. Lorad can manufacture established security phosphor compositions or develop custom host and dopant combinations for specialized authentication systems.
